Conversations With Clouds

Rosie Arnold has returned to her first love, art, after an acclaimed career

as one of the UK’s leading advertising creatives. Her practice is now

guided by a spirit of play and discovery, moving through different media,

techniques and subjects with the delight of a child in a toy shop.

Conversations with Clouds is rooted in her fascination with the transitory

nature of passing clouds, fleeting and fragile forms that drift, dissolve and

reappear, echoing the impermanence of our own lives.

Each painting is titled with a lyric from a song, layering memory and

emotion into the viewing experience. What may seem at first to be a

simple cloud becomes, through her lens, the yearning for a loved one or

the celebration of a relationship.

This exhibition at 20 Cuckoos marks a new chapter in Arnold’s artistic

journey, inviting us to reflect on impermanence, beauty and the

emotional resonance of everyday moments.
