There’s a fantastic point where the estuary merges with the sea on Porth Kidney beach, and it never ceases to delight me. The sky the sea and the river become one.

Sometimes it’s a slow peaceful glide at other times it’s more tempestuous: the colours change almost every moment.

It has a sense of endurance.

For generations Cornwall has traded with Mediterranean and still you can see the boats drift up and down the river to the sea so it’s a meeting place in so many ways ; a meeting of the elements, of people and of time.
